Project Summary

The architect’s design concept behind the Woodlands of Hamilton (formerly Karrington of Hamilton) was a “clustered cottage” with four clusters (wings) connected by a central core.   Each wing contains units that are grouped around a shared communal space featuring a fire place, a family-style kitchen where guests can make their own meals, and an exterior sheltered porch.  Each of the four wings represent a space that is commensurate with the functional ability of the residents within that wing.

The building was designed in a colonial sentiment with its dormers, paned windows, chimneys, brick and stone facades.
