Project Summary

Lebanon Public Libary’s Technology Center was an interior renovation to the main library’s lower level that went virtually unused until it’s revitalization.
The renovation consisted of approximately 9,000 square feet of detailed demolition. Everything existing was stripped and removed: wall base, wall coverings, ceiling pads, light fixtures, HVAC ductwork, casework. Everything.
In replacement of the old came new modern, high-end finishes; floating octagonal ceiling tile “clouds” and linear wood ceilings with a light cherry stain. The tech center is demarcated from the story time room and craft rooms with demountable glass partitions covered with translucent graphics of the library and Shakespearian quotes.
The tech center provides 16 public computers as well as wifi for those with their laptops. The tech center’s design is similar to that of a cafe with a mixed arrangement of seating from high-stooled tables and desks, to unique circular couches with unique daylight fixtures overhead.
